The introduction of a new Work Pass (WP) card with a QR code and a free SGWorkPass mobile application was made on 5 September 2017 by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) on 5 September 2017.

Release of New WP Card and SGWorkPass Mobile App
MOM will begin to issue work permit holders in the Marine Shipyard and Construction sector with the new WP card from 15 September 2017 onwards. Other work pass holders will receive the new WP card in the coming months. Existing WP cards remain valid and WP holders will receive their new cards when they renew their passes.

The SGWorkPass app can be downloaded for free on the Android and iOS app store.
